On November 4, 2015 it was 50's day in St. John Eudes. We celebrated that time because it was 50th anniversary of the school; also it was fifty days of school. The whole day we had free dress and people wore clothes from the 50’s. I wore a leather jacket with a white shirt and pants. Once I got to school I realized that we could have worn jerseys and I have three jersey; Blue, black, and grey. The day began with an assembly that had the They Alley Cats come and sing 50’s songs. They are acapella group with good singing voices. They were funny and also taught us some things about music and singing, which was very interesting. After, we had recess and we got root beer floats. I love drinking root beer its one of my favorite drinks. Soon recess was over and it was time for English. While we were writing about a prompt we got to listen to 50’s bands. The writing prompt was about going to the 50’s and how it would be like. I enjoyed yesterday. Today we had an author come and visit our school. Her name is Alexis O’Neill. She introduced us to the books she wrote such as: The Kite that Bridged Two Nations and The Recess Queen. She gave us writer advice for everyone. She showed us images of her books and how she makes/creates her ideas. One of her pieces of advice for us is to keep a writing journal and write down your ideas. I can improve in my writing it’s just I have too many ideas and don’t write every single idea that I have at the moment. I can also use the advice she gave us for my essays and writing prompts. I hope I can use O’ Neill's advice in my writing.
