Stations of the Cross
Objective: Outline the 14 Stations of the Cross and become familiar with each station and Jesus' journey.
Assignment: Give the number of the station, the title of the station and a brief description of each station and provide an image for each station. The First Station has been provided for you as an outline/template to follow as you outline the other 13 stations. An image - whether hand drawn or in clipart form - must be provided for each station.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS:
FIRST STATION:
Jesus is condemned to death.
Jesus is brought to stand in front of Pontius Pilate, the judge. He is innocent but Pontious Pilate condemns him anyway and sentences Him to death.

SECOND STATION:
Jesus carries His cross
The Romans soldiers give Jesus a heavy cross (on which He will die) and places it on His shoulders. Jesus accept to carry the cross without complaining or fighting.

THIRD STATION:
Jesus falls for the first time
Jesus starts to get tired and falls for the first time. People shout to Him to get up and continue moving on. The soldiers pull Him up and command Him to keep walking.

FOURTH STATION:
Jesus meets his mother
Jesus is walking with the cross and suddenly a woman approach Him. The woman is His mother. They are both shocked and sad because Jesus is going to die.

FIFTH STATION:
Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry his cross
Since the cross is too heavy for Jesus to carry the soldiers pick someone from the crowd to help Jesus with the cross. Jesus says "Thank you" to the man that is chosen and his name is Simon.

Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus
A woman who appears from the crowd, notices that Jesus' face is covered in blood and sweat. The woman decides to clean His face with a unused piece of cloth. The woman who cleans His face is named Veronica.

Jesus falls the second time
Jesus continues walking with the cross and He's feeling really tired. He falls for the second time and the soldiers shout at Him to get up and keep walking.

Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem
In the crowd there are a few people that are crying for Jesus. When He sees a woman that is weeping Jesus says to her that instead of crying for him take care of the others, specially the children.

Jesus falls a third time
Jesus gets more tired and he falls again. He needs help but the soldiers don't let anyone help Him carry the cross. He needs to get up and keep walking.

Jesus clothes are taken away
Jesus gets up to the hill after a long walk. The soldiers decid to take off His robe and leaves Him with a small piece of cloth, in front of the crowds.

ELEVENTH STATION:
Jesus is nailed to the cross
The soldiers start to nail Him to the cross where He will die on. They lay Jesus and while they nail Him to the cross He praise to God to forgive the people who have hurt Him. Jesus tells His mother to be the mother of John meaning the mother of all.

Jesus dies on the cross
After all that Jesus has been through the soldiers start to beat Him up. He soon dies on the cross with his head bowed down.

THIRTEENTH STATION:
The body of Jesus is taken down from the cross
His mother and other friends take Jesus down from the cross. Everyone is very sad that He has died for us and the people He loved the most.

Jesus is laid in the tomb
After they take Him down from the cross they wrap His body in a clean cloth. They place Jesus in a tomb and leaves His body there. They place a big rock in front of the tomb so nobody can get in.
